Frequently Asked Questions

About Headshots & Branding Photography

What’s included in the session fee?

Your session fee covers everything it takes to create your portraits — my time, talent, creative direction, and the full luxury experience from planning to artwork design. It includes your session itself, a personal design appointment to review and choose your favorites, and all the behind-the-scenes magic that turns a good photo into a “wow, that’s us!” portrait. It also includes a credit you can apply to your artwork purchases.  (Artwork and digital files are purchased separately so you only invest in what you truly love.)

Do you offer both digital files and printed artwork?

Sure do. Every image purchased includes both printed artwork and a matching high-resolution digital file. Your family’s story deserves to live on your walls, not just your phone — but I also know we all want to post them for our friends & family asap. So you’ll receive both beautiful printed pieces, and coordinating digital files.

What should we wear? Do you help with wardrobe styling?

Absolutely.  Part of our in-home design consultation is selecting and planning your outfits so they coordinate, look great on camera, and fit the design of your session.

Do you offer guidance on hair & makeup styling?

I do better than that… every session includes professional styling.  Over time I realized most of us don’t know how to style ourselves to look great on camera, and professional styling makes certain you look like the absolute best version of yourself.  For men, this means professional grooming to make sure their hair (head, facial, and otherwise!) is behaving the way they want, and for women it means professional styling of their hair and makeup.  Our stylist works with you to make sure you’re on the same page with how YOU want to see yourself.

Can I invite others to join my session?

Yes, please! One of my favorite questions is: is there anyone else you’d like to share this experience with?  Whether you’re coming for headshots or an extended family session, once you’re getting dressed and done up, you might as well get as much milage as possible out of the time invested.  I’m happy to include important people (or pets!) in your life that you’d like to have in your portraits.

How should I prepare for my session?

Once you book, I’ll guide you through everything — from wardrobe selection to what to bring the day of. My goal is to take the stress out of prep so you can simply show up, relax, and enjoy.

Will you tell me how to pose, and what's your style of direction?

That’s my job! I’ll guide you through flattering poses that look great on camera — no stiff smiles or awkward angles. I’ll tell you exactly how to sit, stand, tilt your head, and the most common question… what to do with your hands!

Where will our session take place? Do you have a studio, or can we do it outdoors?

I offer sessions in studio and on-location, both indoor and outdoor, depending on what your project calls for.

When will we see our photos, and how do we choose what to order?

Your ordering appointment will be within a week of your session, and we’ll pick the date at your design consult so you can schedule it in advance.  That’s when you will get to see your portraits for the first time and I’ll walk through how each image could shine as profile pictures, social content, website art, and more!

What makes your sessions different from other photographers?

I do everything I can to take care of all the details for you.  From wardrobe selection, to detailed posing instructions, to expert guidance on selecting images and artwork.  My sessions are relaxed, guided, and focused on connection — not perfection. You’ll leave with portraits that look like you, that you can be proud to share and show.

Headshots vs Branding Photography

Wondering what’s the difference between headshots vs branding photography? While both involve a camera pointed at your face (ideally with good lighting and zero spinach in your teeth), they serve different purposes—and knowing which one you need will help you show up like a pro.

Why Atlanta Professionals Need Professional Headshots

In a competitive job market and business landscape, how you present yourself matters. As a professional, regardless of whether your are self-employed or serving clients on behalf of an employer, your headshot is often the first impression people have of you.
