design consultation
Start with the End in Mind
We will start by understanding what you really want to get out of your portrait session. It is perfectly fine if you do not know the answer to that yet! I will lead you through questions that will help us establish your true goals for the session, and this will help guide the rest of the design. Great sessions are the result of care in planning and design, and our design consultation gets me the information I need to do just that.
Design consultations can be by phone, zoom, or in person. Here are a few questions to help you think about your vision before we meet. Great portraits start with agreat relationships, so let’s chat!

your session
what to expect
I’ve worked with hundreds of newborns, and have a smooth workflow in place to make sure your session is calm and relaxing. You’ll get to see the design created based on our design consultation. We follow your baby’s schedule and needs, so if we need to take a break for you to feed or snuggle your baby, we can.
You can participate in your session, or relax and just watch, or even put your feet up and watch your favorite show while I work with your baby.
hair & makeup artistry
These are images you will treasure for a lifetime, and I want them to be perfect for you. Mamas of brand new babies are often too tired to want to take care of themselves, so for your session you do not need to worry about a thing. Professional Hair & Makeup Artistry will make sure your face and hair are flawless. My HMUA will work with you to understand your personal style and preferences, and make sure you look like your best self.
baby safety
Your baby’s safety is my first priority during a session. I’ve taken many precautions to make sure my studio is a safe environment for my littlest clients, including:
- Training in a hospital Labor & Delivery on safe handling of newborns
- Staying up to date on all shots required for newborn caretakers
- Washing all baby props with dye-and-fragrance free detergents
- Full interior electrostatic disinfection with organic cleaning solutions before every session

Selecting Your Images and Products
You’ll get to see your gallery of image options at your Ordering Appointment. I’ll be on hand to guide you through selecting the products that best meet your needs, and choosing the images that work best with those products. And because we will have worked closely to coordinate preferences for colors and style, your images will capture all those fleeting and beautiful details of your brand-new baby and fit perfectly in your home.
delivery & installation
All the Way to the Finish Line
The last (and most thrilling!) step is to sit back and relax as your images are delivered and professionally installed in your home. I will be at your home with my installer to oversee and make sure your final installation is the perfect finish to your portrait experience.
